DENVER (KDVR) — Morris, a beloved and well-known cat in Granby, has gone missing, and his owners are rallying the community to help find him.

Morris is the resident cat of Country Ace Hardware, located at 627 W. Agate Ave. The orange cat has built quite a reputation in the Granby community for patrolling and greeting guests, alongside his partner Sheba.

However, on Tuesday, Country Ace Hardware said Morris went missing.

"We have not seen Morris since early morning Friday. It is not like him to be gone this long," said the hardware store on Facebook.

This isn't the first time the popular feline has gone missing. In 2022, Morris caused quite a stir in the community when he was gone for a week. Eventually, the local cat was located in Denver by Granby police. Officers said some people scooped up Morris because they thought he was a stray.

Because of the community's response to Morris' whereabouts in 2022, the city of Granby officially declared Sept. 14 as Morris the Cat Day.

"The day is a chance for the town to celebrate the acts of kindness that lead to Morris’ return and remind all of Granby’s citizens about the pride they have and the community spirit," said Country Ace Hardware.

But now, over two years later, Morris has mysteriously disappeared again. The Grand County Sheriff's Office has also posted asking the community to be on the lookout for Morris.

Anyone who knows where Morris is or has spotted a wandering orange cat is asked to call 970-887-3395. More photos of Morris can be found on the hardware store's blog.
